As we near the deadline, our ancillary texts are well on their way to being finished.
This week, Gemma and I shortlisted a collection of photographs which will be used in our digipak and website (to keep both visually in-sync with each other). They represent each of the main components/locations we used (spring, summer, autumn, winter, 'inside') and so futher highlight this theme of change in the music video itself.
The bulk of the post-production work on the professional shots has now been completed and we are ready to begin layering text (lyrics, 'admin' information, personal message from Regina, credits etc) and start slotting them into place.
Tonight I plan to sketch out a variety of possibilities in order to give the group more material so we can make an informed decision about which digipak would best convey our theme, artist and target audience (having a clear plan will also make the final construction stage much less daunting as it reduces the risk of becoming 'lost' in the computer screen!).
For the structure of the digipak itself, we have decided to focus on two main contenders; The 4 panel template and the Maltese Cross template. Both would accomodate our selection of photographs and amount of text we wish to use, so the final decision will be made along the lines of asthetic quality and audience preference.
