Sophie Muller claims that her trademark style in most of her videos usually has a singer or a band inside a dim, isolated room.

Sophie Muller, over her career has worked with many artists, including Eurythmics, Sade, Shakespear's sister, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Gary Barlow, Blur, Coldplay, Nelly Furtado, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Sugarbabes, Amy Studt, Pink, Dido, Maroon 5, The Killers, Beyonce, Lily Allen, Mika, Leona Lewis, Kings of Leon, Cheryl Cole, and many, many more.

Gwen Stefani - Cool

Clearly shown in this video that the images and visuals are linked. The song is all about how she is still 'cool' with her ex boyfriend and the visuals in the video is showing how she was when she was dating her boyfriend and them meeting in the present time.
Linking this to the point above, this vidoe is manly narrative. This is because it involves Gwen herself playing a character in the story and you can see the lines in which she is singing about as well as hearing it.
This movie is quite fast paced becuase it is having sharp flashbacks and these cuts in the video is matching the pace of the music.
